Chinmaya Mission Jacksonville hosted the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav, a 75th anniversary program honoring the Renaissance of Hinduism, inspired by H H Swami Chinmayananda, on Jan. 25, 2026, at the UNF Robinson Theatre in Jacksonville, Florida.

The event, which saw over 350 attendees, centered on Sanatana Dharma and the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and Vedanta, and highlighted how study, youth education, and volunteer service continue to shape community life in Northeast Florida.

Chinmaya Mission Jacksonville, established two and a half years ago, put in months of preparation for the Mahotsav, with over 50 parent volunteers and Bala Vihar teachers coordinating rehearsals, outreach, venue logistics, audiovisual planning, hospitality, and dinner distribution.

During the event, emcees Ashwini Hebbar and Ambar Patel welcomed the audience and opened the program, followed by the chief guest, Pandit Shrinath Kadambi, lighting the ceremonial lamp, and invoking Bhagavan’s grace with a Ganesha shloka.

A central segment featured 35 Bala Vihar children chanting the Hanuman Chalisa, reflecting weeks of practice and coordination by teachers and families.

The program also included a musical presentation of the Gita Panchamrit Shlokas, five selected verses from the Bhagavad Gita identified by Chinmaya Mission Global Head H H Swami Swaroopananda as a concise essence of the Gita’s teachings.

Set to melody by Dharmacharya Pandit Jadonath, the verses were rendered by Kavita Jadonath Sutaria, along with Chinmaya musicians Shweta Kamat, Shekhar Kamat, and Avinash Dass.

Chinmaya Mission Jacksonville reached out to temples, cultural organizations, and spiritual communities in Northeast Florida, including HSNEF, BAPS, Marathi Mandal, and others, to acknowledge those sustaining dharmic life through volunteer service.

The event also recognized Hindu leaders and sevaks serving across the region, including about 30 organizations, and 25 sevaks were felicitated with Chandan Tilaka and a copy of Swami Chinmayananda’s commentary, The Holy Bhagavad Gita.

The Mahotsav concluded with the screening of On A Quest, a biopic on the life and work of HH Swami Chinmayananda.

The Jacksonville program is part of a yearlong series of 75th anniversary celebrations being held throughout 2026 at over 300 Chinmaya Mission centers worldwide.
