New York Republican attorney general candidate Saritha Komatireddy launched her first statewide digital advertising campaign on July 16.
The six-figure digital advertising buy, the campaign's largest investment to date, will run across all 62 New York counties and focuses on crime and affordability as Komatireddy seeks to unseat Democratic incumbent Letitia James in the November general election.

The campaign said the ads highlight Komatireddy's background as a former federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of New York and former chief of staff at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, contrasting her record with that of James.

In the 30-second advertisement, Komatireddy argues that tackling crime is the key to lowering the cost of living in New York.
"There's a three-word solution to affordability in New York: Just fight crime,” she said.
The ad links crime to rising everyday expenses, saying car theft drives up auto insurance premiums, Medicaid fraud increases health care costs, and state energy policies have led to higher electricity bills. It also criticizes James, claiming she spent "$10 million making herself a celebrity," before ending with Komatireddy's campaign slogan, "Just Fight Crime."
The campaign also released a 60-second advertisement highlighting Komatireddy's prosecutorial record. In the ad, she cites her work prosecuting terrorism cases, including an ISIS sniper and an al-Qaida bomb maker, and presents herself as a career prosecutor focused on public safety.
"I am not a politician. I am a prosecutor. I have no interest in any other office but this one."
According to the campaign, Komatireddy's platform centers on public safety, government accountability and reforming the attorney general's office. Her campaign pledge to prosecute violent crime, eliminate corruption and fraud, and address homelessness by moving homeless individuals with mental illness off the streets through intervention programs.
Campaign manager Isabelle Daigle said the advertising campaign is designed to introduce Komatireddy to voters across the state and build momentum ahead of the general election.
The campaign also claimed that under James, overall crime in New York has increased by 26 percent, homelessness by 38 percent, and drug overdose deaths by 63 percent. Those figures were provided by the campaign and were not independently verified.
James, who is seeking a third term as New York attorney general, has not publicly responded to Komatireddy's latest advertisements.
