Re: Seeking green card, she was taken by ICE

Rebuttal to http://enewspaper.latimes.com article By Itzal Luna

Your article published a fabricated and inflammatory statement accusing Hindus of attacking the Sikhs during the anti-Sikh pogroms after the assassination of India’s Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards. First, a google search   (www.humanrightspulse.com/) shows the perpetrators were the leaders and workers of the Indian National Congress Party, in collusion with the Delhi police and the Delhi city administration. The Congress party was the ruling party at the national and at the city level in 1984.

Independent civil society inquiries also found complicity by the Congress Party led by Mr. Rajiv Gandhi and the Delhi police (www.HRW.org/).The 2005 Nanavati commission acknowledged the ‘systematic’ nature of the attacks. Congress Party leaders used voters’ rosters to identify and target the Sikhs. This clearly contradicts the common media portrayal of the 1984 events as “riots” since a riot denotes actions that are spontaneous and sporadic.

Of note, Hindus love their Sikh brethren. They are inseparable. Hindus saved thousands of Sikh lives by hosting them in their homes during the three-day pogrom.

Will the Times offer a written apology to its Hindu readers for publishing a dangerously false statement?
