Safe Kids Worldwide President, Torine Creppy, hailed the work of the caucus and said, "Safe Kids Worldwide commends the leadership of Representatives Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Buddy Carter, Don Bacon, and Raja Krishnamoorthi.”
She continued, "These members of Congress have been at the forefront of children’s safety issues, and we look forward to working together to do more to ensure the safety of our children. We don’t want any family to lose a child to an injury that could be prevented."
Sharing his appreciation, Congressman Krishnamoorthi said on X, "I'm so honored to receive this award from the Safe Kids Worldwide as a Safe Kids Champion for Children."
He added, "I started the Child Safety Caucus a while ago stemming from investigations into the vaping epidemic as well as toxic heavy metals in baby food and we have to make sure we protect our children. It's a huge priority of mine. I'm honored to receive this award."

Congressman Krishnamoorthi also batted for kids getting free lunches in school. He introduced the Kids Need Lunch Act on Feb. 12, aimed at guaranteeing that every child in the country has access to a free school lunch so that no student is forced to go hungry while they are trying to learn.
The Representative from Illinois said in a statement, "No American child should go hungry when they should be focused on learning in school.”
Rep. Krishnamoorthi added, "This bill ensures every child can count on a meal at school, without stigma or barriers, so they can focus on learning and growing. Feeding children is not just an act of compassion — it is a commitment to their education and our future."
Apart from mandating that schools provide free lunches, the bill also provides for schools being reimbursed for meals served and also for existing unpaid meal balances and thereby prohibiting all lunch fee collections.
