Manvir Singh arrested after alleged hit-and-run crash kills two in California
Singh is also accused of fleeing the scene on foot before being located and arrested nearby.

The California Highway Patrol has arrested 24-year-old Manvir Singh after he allegedly crashed a Freightliner truck, killing two people and injuring several others on Highway 99 near Lodi on May 19.
The crash happened on northbound Highway 99, south of Harney Lane, and involved Singh crashing his big rig into the rear of a Kia Forte.
The impact caused a chain-reaction collision involving a Nissan Frontier and a Toyota Camry, each crashing into the vehicle in front of it.
Authorities said the two male occupants of the Kia Forte, ages 16 and 20, were killed in the crash.
After the collision, the Freightliner truck reportedly skidded off the highway and crashed into a guardrail.

Five additional people were injured in the incident and transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Officials said two of the victims suffered major injuries, while others sustained moderate to minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol said Singh allegedly fled the scene on foot immediately after the crash. Officers later located and arrested him nearby before taking him into custody.
Singh was booked into jail on charges including vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and felony hit-and-run resulting in death or injury. Authorities said his bail has been set at $185,000.
Officials added that Singh is expected to appear in court on May 21 as the investigation into the fatal crash continues.
