A 28-year-old Indian national from Hyderabad was shot dead while delivering a pizza in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the early hours of June 5.
According to the local reports, Anshul Kuncha, a resident of Gundlapochampally in Hyderabad, was working as a pizza delivery driver when the incident occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. at the Raymond Rosen Homes housing complex on Edgeley Street in North Philadelphia.

According to police, officers responding to reports of gunfire found Kuncha lying unresponsive in a courtyard with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Consulate General of India in New York expressed condolences over the incident in a statement posted on social media.
“We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Mr. Anshul Kuncha, an Indian national in Philadelphia, PA. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time. The Consulate is in touch with Anshul’s family and is extending all possible assistance,” the consulate said.
Philadelphia Police Department Chief Inspector Scott Small said Kuncha had been assigned to deliver a pizza order to an apartment in the housing complex. Investigators later determined that the address provided for the delivery was a vacant unit.
Police recovered three spent shell casings near the victim, indicating the shooter was standing close to him at the time of the attack. Inside the vacant apartment, officers found three pizza boxes and a delivery bag.
The food appeared untouched, leading investigators to believe Kuncha had completed the delivery before being shot outside.
Authorities traced the order to Pete’s Pizza, where Kuncha worked as a delivery driver. His vehicle was found near the scene with a pizza warmer still inside.
Investigators are examining surveillance footage from cameras operated by the Philadelphia Housing Authority. Police said the footage shows Kuncha carrying pizza boxes while being followed by two individuals dressed in dark clothing, one of whom appeared to be carrying a dark backpack.
Although the shooting itself was not captured on camera, investigators believe the footage could provide significant leads. Police have identified the phone number used to place the order and said the investigation remains ongoing.
No arrests have been announced in connection with the shooting.
