Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel visits Art of Living centre in D.C.
Patel visited the Art of Living centre to engage with the Indian American community and highlight India’s wellness traditions and cultural ties with the U.S.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the Art of Living centre in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 19, during his official visit to the United States.
The Chief Minister met members of the organization and highlighted its efforts to bring India’s traditions of yoga, meditation and breathwork to communities across the United States.
Patel commended the Art of Living’s work in promoting mental well-being, resilience and human connection, particularly among young people.

The visit also comes as practices associated with India’s yoga and meditation traditions are receiving increasing attention in the U.S. through both community programs and academic research.
Patel’s visit highlighted the growing connection between India’s traditional wellness practices and their use in American communities, as well as the increasing academic interest in studying their potential impact on stress, resilience and social connection.
“It was an honor to host Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel at the Art of Living Centre in Washington, DC. We wish him continued success in his efforts to serve the people of Gujarat and advance the state’s vision of a healthier and more resilient society,” said Bhushan Deodhar, director of the Art of Living Centre.
The Art of Living has worked in the United States for nearly 45 years toward its stated vision of a stress-free and violence-free society. Its initiatives include the World Culture Festival, held on the National Mall in Washington in September 2023, which drew about 1.1 million people and participants from more than 180 countries.
Patel is visiting the U.S. as part of a high-level delegation promoting Gujarat and its upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit scheduled for 2027.
