The Raleigh chapter of the Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) hosted a victory celebration marking the Bharatiya Janata Party's recent assembly election victories in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry, drawing more than 700 guests and supporters.
The event featured patriotic-themed decorations, including a custom-crafted Bharat Mata installation at the entrance that served as a photo point for attendees.

The evening began with traditional ceremonies, including a lamp-lighting ritual and a Rudra Abhishek, followed by a rendition of "Vande Mataram."
Attendees also viewed a presentation highlighting the BJP's recent achievements and milestones through videos and slides. The program included cultural performances, featuring a yoga-dance fusion presentation by the Sampige Kannada Association and a classical dance tribute to Maa Kali, "Mahishasura Mardini," by the Gurukrupa School of Indian Dance.
The keynote address was delivered by Madhavi Kolli, BJP vice president of Telangana, who spoke about democratic participation and highlighted the achievements and future goals of BJP-led governments at the central and state levels.
Additional remarks were delivered by Swadesh Chatterjee, recipient of India's third-highest civilian award, the Padma Bhushan, and surgeon Shankar Adusumilli.
The evening concluded with dinner and networking, where jhalmuri was among the featured dishes. The Bengali snack became associated with the recent West Bengal election campaign following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's widely publicized stop at a jhalmuri stall during a campaign visit to Jhargram.
Organizers said the event blended recognition of the party's electoral gains with cultural programming reflecting Indian traditions. The OFBJP Raleigh chapter also thanked volunteers, attendees and sponsors for helping make the event possible.
The celebration came weeks after the BJP secured a landmark victory in West Bengal, ending 15 years of Trinamool Congress rule and forming its first government in the state. The party also retained power in Assam for a third consecutive term, while the National Democratic Alliance maintained control of Puducherry.
