Sharing details of the meeting on social media, Ahluwalia described the discussion as focused on reforming what he called a “dysfunctional immigration system,” with particular attention to strengthening oversight and integrity in employment-based visa programs.

Representative Brandon Gill chairs the newly created Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses, and Representative Glenn Grothman is a member of the House Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity. Ahluwalia thanked both lawmakers for their leadership on immigration-related issues.

A seasoned business strategist and public affairs professional with more than three decades of experience, Ahluwalia is the founding partner of New World Strategies, a firm focused on business development, trade, and international collaboration. His work spans sectors including energy, defense, infrastructure, information technology, finance, banking, and sports tourism.

Ahluwalia has also been active in political and public policy circles. He served as chair of the Asian American Coalition for Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin’s successful gubernatorial campaign and was appointed to then-presidential candidate Donald Trump’s Asia Pacific Advisory Committee in 2016.

Beyond domestic policy engagement, Ahluwalia has worked with political and community leaders across South Asia and the Middle East, advocating for democratic participation, minority rights, and international cooperation. His collaborations have included engagement with leaders from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Kurdish political organizations.

The meeting comes amid ongoing debates in Washington over legal immigration pathways, employment-based visa programs, border security, and broader efforts to modernize the U.S. immigration system.
