The current students of the Kellogg School of Management at Illinois’s Northwestern University have planned and developed the Kellogg’s India Business Conference 2024. It will take place on the campus at the White Auditorium on Apr. 13 between 9 am to 4:30 pm local time. The first Kellogg India Business Conference was held in 1992.

The theme for 2024 is ‘Reimagining India: Shaping the global economic landscape’ and will celebrate the Indian diaspora’s influence, both in shaping the global economic landscape and driving transformative change within India itself, as per a ticketing portal. The event is sold out completely, at the time of this writing.

“The conference will focus on the business outlook in India across industries, including start-ups, investments, and infrastructure. Through a series of global and regional speakers and panels, we hope to expand on our theme, ‘Growth Opportunities in India’.” the university website states.

The speaker list includes entrepreneur Laxman Narasimhan, CEO of Starbucks; Indian film director Vidhu Vinod Chopra; Sugar Cosmetics founder-CEO Vineeta Singh; Indian mathematics educator, Anand Kumar; former governor of Reserve Bank of India, Raghuram Rajan; and CEO of HCL Technologies, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, among others. Chopra and Malhotra are alumni of the university.

The event will kickstart with a breakfast, check-in, and welcome address between 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. The first session is a panel on food and agriculture businesses by panelists Narsimhan and Niren Chaudhary from Panera Brands. This will be followed by a panel on startups and venture capital featuring panelist Kanwal Rekhi, managing director of Inventus Capital Partners, among others. The session on the state of education in India by panelist Kumar will conclude the first half of the conference.

After a lunch and networking break, a panel comprising technology and corporate leaders, a session on the state of policy in India, a panel on media business and entrepreneurship, and a fireside chat on media and films with Vidhu Vinod Chopra, will take place. The final session will be a session on policy by Rajan and Subramanian Krishnamurthy, former chief economic advisor to the government of India.
