New York to celebrate two centuries of Assam tea

Chief Secretary of Assam Dr. Ravi Kota will be in New York for the celebrations

The Consulate General of India is celebrating '200 Years of Assam Tea' on June 29.

The celebrations will be held at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York at the India Pavilion Lounge.

The event will be jointly inaugurated by the Chief Secretary of Govt. of Assam, Dr. Ravi Kota and the Consul General of India in New York, Binaya S. Pradhan.

Assam tea, grown in India's Assam region, is renowned for its robust, malty flavor and bright, reddish liquor. This black tea, often used in breakfast blends, thrives in the area's lush, tropical climate.
