Krishna was last seen on Hermit Road on April 28.

Sandarsh Krishna / Grand Canyon National Park

A 26-year-old Indian-origin man, Sandarsh Krishna, went missing from Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, and now police have identified a possible lead in the case, the park service announced May 1.

Krishna went missing from the Rim Trail on Hermit Road between Bright Angel Lodge and Mohave Point on April 28. Authorities have been actively searching for him since then but have failed to discover meaningful leads to ascertain Krishna’s whereabouts.

However, authorities announced an unknown individual had turned in a black bag to hotel personnel at Bright Angel Lodge on April 28 at approximately 7 a.m. Authorities noted that the bag likely belongs to Krishna and are therefore looking to identify the individual who turned in the bag for more details into the matter.

Authorities describe Krishna as 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build, weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing athletic clothing.

Requesting public support, park authorities said in a statement, “Investigators are seeking to identify and speak with the individual who turned the backpack in to lodge staff, as they may have information relevant to the investigation.”

They also highlighted that the individual is not considered a suspect.

As reported by local U.S. news outlet AZCentral, officials believe Krishna may have used a rideshare or taxi service before he went missing.
