King’s College signs deal with Indian university to foster cross-country academic relations

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Canada’s King’s University College and India’s GD Goenka University to foster academic and cultural collaboration between the two countries. A delegation from King’s visited New Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune before the spring intake.
The agreement will enable the exchange of lectures, seminars, workshops, research, programs, information, teaching materials, and publication, a news release noted. Over the next five years it will facilitate future student pathways and exchanges, joint research activities, and bilateral academic cooperation.
Speaking of the MoU, Goenka’s vice chancellor, Prof. B.S. Satyanarayana said, “Such collaborations are helpful for cultural understanding and collaboration between two nations, and could benefit the students and faculty of both universities.” The University is also looking to have King’s exchange students on its campus through its International Partnerships and Student Mobility program.
Speaking about the India visit, King’s president Dr David C. Malloy said, “King’s University College has a strong focus in bolstering its partnerships with India and to help in capacity building within the education sector. Beyond learning, we identify great potential in this market and would use this opportunity to meet with prospective industry players, that can help boost the social and commercial exchange between the countries.”
Malloy also praised Indian students and called them “great leaders on campus” in academic and co-curricular activities alike.
