Fellows are appointed for a three-year term as non-resident affiliates and are expected to contribute to research and public discourse in their respective fields, including through articles published by ProMarket, the Stigler Center’s publication platform.

Aggarwal, an assistant professor at Northwestern University, specializes in law and finance, with a particular focus on the economic analysis of corporate and securities law. His research examines how legal and regulatory frameworks shape financial markets and corporate behavior.

His scholarly work has appeared or is forthcoming in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Law and Economics, the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies, and several prominent law reviews. Aggarwal has also presented his research at major academic forums, including the Harvard/Yale/Stanford Junior Faculty Forum and annual meetings of the American Law and Economics Association and the Conference on Empirical Legal Studies.

Aggarwal holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics, a doctorate in financial economics and a Juris Doctor degree from Yale University.

The Stigler Center said the Affiliate Fellows cohort brings together economists, legal scholars, political scientists and business researchers from a range of jurisdictions and academic backgrounds. The program aims to encourage collaboration on issues affecting market competition, regulation and public policy while strengthening a community of scholars engaged in these fields.
