An Indian family from Visakhapatnam has drawn attention after a viral social media post detailed how mounting debt and shifting U.S. visa rules upended plans to secure jobs abroad for two sons educated in the United States.
The account was shared on X by local entrepreneur Aditya Rajgarhia, who said a close friend borrowed heavily to send both sons to the U.S. for master’s degrees despite limited means. By the time they graduated, the family’s debt had reached ₹1.5 crore, according to the post. The father’s small business was already under strain as he continued to support them financially.
