TheIndia Philanthropy Alliance (IPA) has gone live with its fourth annual India Giving Day, which will be held on March 13, 2026.

India Giving Day unites thousands of donors, nonprofits and community leaders in a day of collective giving, amplifying the shared commitment of the Indian American diaspora to supporting humanitarian work across India.

While most giving days focus on community- or region-based causes, IPA launched a nationwide campaign in 2023, India Giving Day, to support nonprofit organizations working in India, in an attempt to foster a more robust and better-recognized culture of giving among Indian Americans.

As part of the day’s celebration, organizers are encouraging every Indian American family to give $100 or more to the charity or charities of their choice during the India Giving Day campaign window.

“We are excited to take India Giving Day to the next level this year. The new report by Dalberg tells us that Indian American philanthropy has grown significantly over the last six years, and India Giving Day has been one of the sources fueling that growth,” said Alex Counts, executive director of the India Philanthropy Alliance.

He added, “Now we must build on and accelerate that momentum to help more people and ecosystems thrive in India through supporting the best nonprofits in India, and arguably in the world.”

India Giving Day will host dozens of philanthropic organizations that have been carefully vetted by the IPA, enabling Indian Americans to donate to organizations working in diverse fields like education, health care, livelihood development, women’s and children’s programs, programs for the elderly and environmental sustainability, among others.

“One of the greatest benefits of India Giving Day to our supporters is that we offer a trusted platform with organizations that have been carefully vetted and are working in nearly every field of interest and concern,” said Deepak Raj, chairman of the India Philanthropy Alliance and a national co-chair of India Giving Day.
