Indian American community celebrates India Day in New England
On the occasion, the ISW's annual day souvenir book was released.

India Day 2026 event hosted by ISW in Massachusetts / X/India in Boston
The Indian American community across New England came together over the weekend to celebrate India Day 2026 with a series of cultural engagements, community welfare activities and business promotion initiatives.
Senior diplomats from the Consulate General of India in Boston joined prominent regional organizations to mark the occasion and celebrate the growing partnership between India and the United States.
Consul General Raghuram S. joined community members at the daylong India Day 2026 event hosted by the India Society of Worcester (ISW) in Massachusetts, showcasing Indian culture, community welfare initiatives and business promotion efforts.
On the occasion, the ISW's annual day souvenir book was also released. The book cover featured artwork created by children, depicting the historic visit of the Indian Navy's sail training ship, INS Sudarshini, to Massachusetts as part of the Sail Boston 250 festivities.

Sail Boston 250 took place from July 11 to July 16, 2026, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States with more than 60 majestic tall ships and military vessels from more than 20 countries visiting Boston Harbor.

In another celebration organized by the United India Association of New England (UIANE), Deputy Consul General Shruthi Purushotam engaged with diaspora members to celebrate the region's rich cultural heritage.
Addressing the gathering, Purushotam highlighted the crucial role played by the Indian American community in partnering with the Indian Consulate in Boston in strengthening bilateral relations and cultural ties.
