India revises travel advisory for Iran
Embassy urges Indians to defer travel and consider temporarily leaving the country.

The Embassy of India in Iran on July 20 issued a revised travel advisory for Indian nationals, urging them to postpone travel to the country and advising those already in Iran to consider temporarily leaving as security conditions worsen.
The advisory comes amid heightened instability and conflict in Iran.

"Indian nationals intending to travel to Iran for any purpose should postpone travel for the time being until the security environment improves. Indians already in Iran should consider temporarily exiting Iran, using available flight options," the embassy said.
It advised Indian nationals who choose to remain in Iran to exercise the highest level of caution, closely monitor local news, and maintain full situational awareness.
The embassy also urged them to avoid areas experiencing heightened military activity, particularly along Iran's southern coast, and to follow instructions issued by local authorities.
It asked Indian nationals in Iran who have not yet registered with the embassy to do so immediately and to regularly monitor the mission's website and social media channels for further updates.
The revised advisory comes as tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated, with both countries exchanging military strikes across the Middle East.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi said Tehran had stopped fulfilling its obligations under its peace memorandum of understanding with the United States, alleging that Washington had violated its commitments under the agreement.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces had carried out another round of strikes against Iran while more than 50,000 U.S. troops in the region remained "highly vigilant."
"During the eighth consecutive night of U.S. strikes, CENTCOM forces successfully hit Iranian military coastal surveillance and air defence facilities, maritime capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites to continue degrading Iranian military capabilities," CENTCOM said in a post on X.
CENTCOM also said the U.S. military targeted Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), alleging it had launched attacks against U.S. service members in Jordan on July 17.
