Underscoring his reliance on trusted insiders in critical global posts, US President Donald Trump has tapped one of his closest confidants, Sergio Gor, to serve as his envoy to India. The move has drawn widespread acclaim from senior administration officials, highlighting both Gor’s pivotal role in the Trump White House and the strategic significance of India to Washington.

Gor, a central figure in the Presidential Personnel Office, is among the few in the administration with direct, unhindered access to the Oval Office. “He will represent U.S. interests in one of the most important regions of the world,” Trump said in his nomination announcement on Truth Social, highlighting the unique level of trust he places in Gor.
