Vijay Antony's 'Nooru Saami' to premiere on ZEE5 Global on Aug. 7

Indian actor Vijay Antony's family drama Nooru Saami will begin streaming on ZEE5 Global on Aug. 7 following its theatrical release, bringing the emotionally driven film to audiences in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Inspired by true events, the film centers on Selvi, a widowed mother who faces social resistance after deciding to seek companionship later in life. Through her journey, the story explores themes of motherhood, dignity, acceptance and the pursuit of happiness despite societal expectations. The narrative also highlights the bond between a mother and her son, portraying a son who encourages his mother to embrace a new chapter in her life.
The cast includes Vijay Antony, Swasika, Ajay Dhishan, Lijomol Jose, Karunas, Kavya Anil, Balaji Sakthivel and Aruldoss. The film received positive responses during its theatrical run for its performances and its treatment of contemporary social issues.

Directed and written by Sasi, Nooru Saami reunites the filmmaker with Vijay Antony nearly a decade after their successful collaboration on Pichaikkaran. The film is produced by Vijay Antony and Fathima Vijay Antony under the Vijay Antony Film Corporation banner.

Sasi said the story was inspired by real-life experiences and aimed to highlight love, acceptance and the freedom to pursue happiness regardless of age or societal expectations. “I wanted to tell a story that speaks about love, acceptance and the freedom to choose happiness, regardless of age or social expectations. I'm grateful that the film has connected with audiences in theatres, and I'm delighted that it will now reach many more homes through Tamil Zee 5,” Sasi said.
Vijay Antony said the emotional relationship between the mother and her son forms the heart of the film and expressed hope that families across languages would connect with its message.
"Every film has a purpose, and for me, Nooru Saami stands apart because of the emotions it carries. The relationship between the mother and her son is at the heart of this story, and I believe audiences will connect deeply with its message. I'm happy that families across languages can now watch the film together on Zee 5 Tamil,” Antony said.
Nooru Saami will stream exclusively on ZEE5 Global beginning Aug. 7, making the film available to viewers in more than 190 countries through the platform's multilingual service.
