In mid-April, I logged onto a Zoom meeting with Nepali filmmaker Santosh Dahal. The sun had just set in my country and risen in his. Days later, he would fly to my side of the world for the Austin, Texas, premiere of his contemplative short film, New Moon Rain.
“Maybe the audience in America or Europe didn't get the full context of the film,” Dahal mentioned to me, noting how differently non-Asian viewers had received the story in past screenings.
