At an age when most executives are still climbing the ranks, Anirudh “Ani” Kilambi has already reached the top.

Named general manager of the Washington Nationals at 31, Kilambi is the youngest active GM in Major League Baseball, reflecting a new generation of leadership shaping the future of the sport.

The appointment, announced in Dec. 2025, adds Kilambi to a notably young leadership group that includes 35-year-old president of baseball operations Paul Toboni and 33-year-old manager Blake Butera, who together form one of the youngest front office trios in the league.
