The family of deceased Indian Texas Tech medical student Vaibhav Duggal has alleged that intimidation and procedural failures by the university staff contributed to his death in July 2025.

In a YouTube video released earlier this month, the family detailed what they describe as repeated intimidation, coercion, and due process failures by officials at Texas Tech University Health and Science Center (TTUHSC), sharing internal emails and meeting transcripts they say shed new light on the events leading up to his death.

The family alleges that Duggal died after being threatened with possible expulsion following an incident during routine medical duties that they say was neither investigated nor independently verified by the school.

According to the family, limited information about the circumstances surrounding Duggal’s death had been publicly available until the release of the video on Jan. 3.

“To this day, Texas Tech University has shown no remorse for this situation and hasn’t even reached out to offer condolences,” a family representative said. “This is astonishing considering that he was considered a top student at the school.”

The video also references what the family claims are broader systemic concerns at the institution, including alleged gender bias in investigations, neglect of student mental health, administrative misconduct, and a lack of trauma-informed responses by leadership. The family said these issues extend beyond Duggal’s case.

Since its release, the video has drawn significant public attention, receiving more than 25,000 views and over 350 comments within roughly 10 days.

The family said that, following the video’s release, they have learned of other incidents at the school that have not been publicly documented.

“We hope we can empower others to tell their stories to perhaps help someone before it’s too late,” the family representative said.

The family is seeking accountability and justice and said they can be reached for comment through NPCS Group or an online support forum established in Duggal’s name.
