Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn is the Mega Sponsor for an India Independence Day celebration on August 15 at Artesia Park, bringing together the Southern California Indian American community for an evening of food, culture, entertainment and family activities.
“Our Indian American community is an integral part of the fabric of LA County, and I am so proud to represent this large and growing community. This Saturday, I'm sponsoring a celebration of eight decades of independence for a rising, vibrant India, at Artesia Park,” Hahn wrote on X.
Dr. K.J. Srinivasa, Consul General of India in Los Angeles, will attend as the Chief Guest. The event is organized by Magical Eve Events, with Saahas serving as the charity partner.

The celebration, billed as a gathering centered on “freedom, culture and community,” will be held on Aug. 15, at Artesia Park, 18750 Clarkdale Ave., Artesia, California.
The event will feature live shows and cultural performances, including music and dance, along with a kids' fun zone featuring inflatables and activities. A dedicated cricket zone will offer bat, ball and bouncer activities for children and adults.
Attendees can also sample a variety of Indian cuisines and browse shopping stalls featuring local vendors and unique products. The program will include a “Magnificent Moms” fashion show by Smita Vasant, adding another cultural highlight to the celebration.
The event is free and open to everyone, with organizers encouraging families and friends to attend.
The celebration is presented by Magical Eve Events and supported by community and business sponsors, including State Bank of India (California), Wallis Bank, Raising Cane’s, Chak-De Bharat, LA India Fashion Week, NextGen Youth Cricket Academy and others.
Hahn represents the Fourth District on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, which includes Artesia and surrounding communities with a significant Indian American population.
