Kartik Das, the founder of a modern snack brand Doosra,  began his food journey as a storyteller, documenting people who championed their own culinary heritage. However, he soon realized that to truly tell a food story, he had to step behind the stove. That led him from New York to culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu mid-pandemic, followed by hands-on experience in kitchens across London, New York, and Connecticut.

As Das craved a narrative of his own, he revisited his childhood memories of India, where the late afternoon—specifically between 4:30 and 5:00 PM—was sacred. “No matter what was happening in the day, everyone sat down for tea and snacks,” he recalls. “It was a time to connect. I still remember sitting with my grandad, sharing those moments and those flavors.”
