Jain Connect hosts Bay Area singles weekend
Event in Sunnyvale drew 130 Jain singles nationwide for social, cultural and community activities over three days.

Jain Connect, an initiative of the Federation of Jain Associations in North America (JAINA) and the Jain Center of Northern California (JCNC), hosted a three-day Singles Weekend in Sunnyvale, California, from July 24 to 26, bringing together 130 participants from across the United States for social, cultural and community activities.
The event welcomed 65 men and 65 women. Organizers said the gathering was initially planned for a smaller venue in Fremont but was moved to a larger location in Sunnyvale after registrations exceeded capacity. The expanded venue allowed attendance to increase to 130 participants.
"The response we received was incredible," a member of the Jain Connect organizing team said.
"What started as a single weekend gathering grew into one of the largest Jain singles events in the region, and it's a testament to how much our community values coming together."
The program began on July 24 with registration, icebreaker games and a stand-up comedy performance.
Activities on July 25 included age-group introductions, two rounds of speed dating and a panel featuring couples who had previously met through Jain community events. The day concluded with a DJ-led social dance.
The couples panel included a couple who met at the 2025 JAINA Convention and are now engaged. Organizers said the discussion highlighted the event's goal of helping participants build lasting relationships within the Jain community.
The final day featured a group hike to the Dragon Buddhist Temple, followed by breakfast and a visit to the Jain Center of Northern California. Participants also took part in a temple tour, darshan and puja before the weekend concluded with a group gathering.
JCNC hosted the July 25 temple visit, which organizers said connected the weekend's social activities with shared religious and cultural traditions.
Jain Connect organizes matchmaking events for Jain singles across North America, providing opportunities for participants to meet others with shared cultural and community backgrounds.
The Jain Center of Northern California serves the region's Jain community through religious, cultural and community programs.
