American Telugu Association event features discussions on public service and civic leadership

The 19th American Telugu Association (ATA) Conference & Youth Convention, being held at the Baltimore Convention Center in Maryland from July 31 to August 1, features a series of key discussions on public service, civic leadership, and emerging Indian American voices.
These sessions will bring together students, young professionals, and community leaders from across the US to explore leadership, public policy, and new opportunities for the next generation of Telugu-American changemakers.
The four sessions at the conference will explore themes of America250: The Indian American Journey in Shaping the Nation; The Next Generation of Public Service; Excellence in Political Lobbying: Building Influence, Shaping Policy and Building Tomorrow’s Leaders: Preparing for Community and Political Leadership.
“The American Telugu Association has long served as a premier organization dedicated to empowering the Telugu-American community through service, education, culture, youth development, business, and civic engagement. I am honoured to serve as the political committee chair for ATA, where I have the opportunity to bring together distinguished elected officials, policymakers, community leaders, and emerging changemakers to foster meaningful dialogue on public service and civic leadership,” Dr Srilekha Reddy Palle, a healthcare professional and chair of the US political committee at ATA told New India Abroad.
“This year’s political track, held during America’s 250th anniversary celebration, reflects ATA’s commitment to encouraging greater civic participation within the Indian American community. By creating a bipartisan platform for thoughtful discussions, we hope to inspire the next generation to become active participants in shaping the future of our communities and our nation. Civic engagement transcends political affiliation—it is about service, leadership, and ensuring every voice has the opportunity to contribute to the American story.”
Dr Reddy Palle said that the conversations have been designed to inspire, challenge and empower current and future leaders while fostering meaningful dialogue across generations and perspectives.
The speakers at the panels include Sujit Koppula, senior advisor to Virginia State Senator Kannan Srinivasan; Viswajith Mallampati, political media planner, i360, Aishani Srivastava, political strategist, Democratic Party of Virginia, Niraj Antani, former Ohio Senator, Saat Alety, partner, Federal Hall Policy Advisors, LLC and Dr Reddy Palle.
