Indian Seniors of Chicago host Asha Bhosle tribute

In her honor, her songs were performed at the event by Panna Shah, Usha Solanki, Hemant Modi, Arvind Kotak and Jayanti Oza.

Indian Seniors of Chicago organized a special tribute event in commemoration of Indian singing legend Asha Bhosle on June 13, at the Manav Seva Mandir in Bensenville, Illinois.

Asha Bhosle was a legendary Indian playback singer celebrated for her extraordinary vocal range, versatility, and a career spanning over seven decades with thousands of songs across multiple languages.

She passed away on April 12, 2026, at the age of 92 in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest and multiple organ failure.

In her honor, her songs were performed at the event by Panna Shah, Usha Solanki, Hemant Modi, Arvind Kotak and Jayanti Oza.

Attended by over 380 community members, the event also witnessed ISC's Father's Day celebration, wherein 11 members were called on the stage and honored with a bouquet of flowers. The flowers were presented by special guest Satish Parikh, who sponsored the event.

Sponsors Satish Parikh and Daksha Parikh were also honored with a bouquet of flowers by Vice President Navin Patel.

As part of the celebration, all the members whose birthdays were celebrated in June were greeted with a bouquet of flowers by the special guest Satish Parikh.

The event also featured a recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa, which was followed by ISC Treasurer Hemant Modi presenting the income and expenditure account for the month of May. He also announced the names of the people who donated to the organization and donated at the picnic.

Swamishri Kevalanand, who had come from India, was welcomed with flowers by Vice President Navibhai Patel, Kantibhai Patel and Dahyabhai Prajapati.

In his address, Swamishri Kevalanand noted that everyone should make good use of time. He urged attendees to experience the feeling that God is always with them and no power in the world can hurt them. He also asked the attendees to be helpful in removing the pain of others.

The organizers, Navin Patel, Hemant Modi and Chiman Patel announced ISC's summer picnic and also urged attendees to donate for the July 12 event.
