Ramaswamy recently spoke about the uniqueness of the American Dream, which Fishback rejected.

Florida gubernatorial candidate James Fishback escalated his criticism of H-1B visas, arguing that “there is no American Dream when H-1B visa holders are stealing jobs from Americans,” in a public exchange with Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

Ramaswamy recently posted on X about the uniqueness of the American Dream, writing, “There’s no ‘Canadian Dream.’ There’s no ‘British Dream.’ There’s no ‘Chinese Dream.’ It’s called the American Dream for a reason. It’s what makes American exceptionalism possible.”

Fishback rejected that framing in his response, posting, “There's no ‘American Dream’ when H-1Bs can come here and steal our jobs and dignity. I'm running for Florida governor to end the H-1B scam so our workers can get great-paying jobs again.”
