Over 35 Hindu temples, Sikh gurudwaras, and community associations across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex organized coordinated celebrations on July 4, to mark the 250th anniversary of United States independence.

The regional observances included special prayer services and the display of commemorative banners at premises throughout the area. The initiative was coordinated by Mahesh Chamaria, Sachin Sugandhi, and Balaji Ariyanan, working in conjunction with local temples, gurudwaras, and community groups.

Organizers stated the celebration reflected the deep sense of belonging, gratitude, and patriotic spirit shared by Hindu Americans toward the United States, which many honor as their "Karma Bhoomi", a philosophical tenet emphasizing loyalty and service to the land where one lives and works.

Local entrepreneurs, including Sanjay Padhsala and Arpan Prakash, provided the printing services for the commemorative banners.

In addition to spiritual guidance, the participating DFW temples and gurudwaras operate as community centers that host schools, run food drives, and support local charities.

The milestone celebration comes as the Indian American community continues to see significant civic and economic participation. While representing approximately 1 percent of the total U.S. population, Indian Americans contribute an estimated 6 percent of federal taxes.

The demographic's history in the U.S. dates back to a first wave of immigrants in the 1950s, who primarily arrived as professors, doctors, and engineers. Successive generations have since expanded into roles as business leaders, scientists, hotel entrepreneurs, lawyers, and information technology professionals.
