Co-founders of Pomo Praneet Dutta and Joe Cheuk / Special Arrangement
When Praneet Dutta and co-founder Joe Cheuk left their comfortable lead engineer roles at Google DeepMind and Databricks to launch Pomo, an AI agents startup, it was an undeniable leap of faith. Despite the ambition of the project, Dutta remains upbeat.
Dutta and Cheuk, both immigrants; the former from India and the latter Hong Kong and Canada; met during their first week at Google, became friends and realized that they wanted to build a generational company. “It was very exciting to start the company and we both feel that given what’s happening with AI in today’s world and its exponential growth, now is the time to be building things,” Dutta, who is based in Palo Alto, Silicon Valley, says.
