The Health Camp of New Jersey (HCNJ), in collaboration with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton (RWJ Barnabas Health), hosted a Community Health Fair on May 18.
The event, hosted at the RWJ Fitness and Wellness Center, drew hundreds of community members for a day centered on accessible healthcare, education, and wellness.
It featured a wide range of free health screenings, including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, hemoglobin A1c, thyroid testing, and physical therapy assessments. Special focus was given to health issues prevalent in the South Asian community, with initiatives addressing cancer prevention, mental health, and stroke education.
Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (LabCorp), a leading global life sciences company, and RWJ Hamilton provided diagnostic services and pharmacy counseling. Attendees also received personalized consultations from healthcare professionals across multiple specialties.
Volunteers from the Rotary Club of Hamilton/Robbinsville, SHINE, SEWA International USA, and other community groups contributed significantly to the event’s success. Participating organizations included NJ CEED, Trenton Health Team, SATHI – Rutgers, SAMHIN, Project BEST, and CARE.
HCNJ announced its next health fair will be held on June 15, 2025, at Umiya Dham Temple in Edison, NJ. With over 25 years of service, HCNJ has screened more than 13,500 individuals and aims to launch a Community Health Center by 2026.
