Hans Zimmer partners with Rahman for Ranbir Kapoor-Sai Pallavi starrer ‘Ramayana’

The movie is reportedly being made on a colossal budget of Rs 835 crore.

This marks the first collaboration between the two legends of the global music industry, Zimmer and Rahman / X/ @A.R.Rahman and X/@Yash

AR Rahman has sent a shockwave of excitement among fans by uploading a photo with Hans Zimmer. The Indian Oscar winner has joined forces with the German Oscar winner, Zimmer, collaborating on the soundtrack of the upcoming Indian epic film 'Ramayana', directed by Nitesh Tiwari, marking Zimmer's Bollywood debut and blending their iconic styles for a global audience.

Tiwari's 'Ramayana' is the latest adaptation of the eternal Rama-Ravana clash but seeks to be unparalleled in its scale and spectacle.
 



On July 3, the teaser of the Ranbir Kapoor-Sai Pallavi starrer was released after years of build-up through announcements, casting confirmations, and production updates.

The launch included screenings in nine Indian cities and a special screening at the iconic Times Square in New York.

Set in a mythical age under the divine rule of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, a once-unassuming demon child, Ravana, grows in power and threatens the cosmic equilibrium, prompting Vishnu to incarnate as Rama for an epic battle to restore cosmic balance.

The star studded cast features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, among other notable actors.

Sharing the teaser of the film, Yash said on X, "Witness the IMMORTAL story of Rama vs. Ravana," creating both suspense and anticipation about his latest venture.”



Produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash, the movie is a massive Rs 835 crore project, as per an earlier report by Bollywood Hungama. This would make it the most expensive Indian film to date.

Ramayana will be a two-part film. The first part is scheduled to release on Diwali 2026 and the second part will release on Diwali 2027.
