Challenging limiting beliefs, learning from setbacks and building strong relationships are key principles for achieving extraordinary results, Indian-American entrepreneur Atul Jain said, addressing a leadership workshop organised in Washington, DC, on August 2.
The inspiring community session titled "Creating Breakthrough Results" was organised by the Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) USA Washington, DC chapter, hosted at TEOCO headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia.
Atul Jain, Founder and CEO of TEOCO, challenged traditional paradigms by defining a true breakthrough not as a marginal 10% improvement, but as a 5x to 10x shift in magnitude that turns "impossible" goals into reality.
Drawing upon business strategy, personal anecdotes, and ancient Jain philosophy, he outlined key principles for creating breakthroughs.
These principles include shifting internal mindset first, building support and relatedness, navigating breakdowns and embracing vulnerability.
Jain encouraged participants to treat preconceived notions as temporary "files" that can be edited or deleted, rather than fixed "beliefs," and to manage self-chatter to unlock potential, according to a statement.
No breakthrough is achieved alone. Success relies on enrolling a core team of 2–3 supporters through genuine care and relatedness, he said.
Breakdowns are a natural byproduct of taking bold stands. The key is recognizing the gap, recommitting, and taking immediate action rather than remaining stuck, he added.
“Utilizing phrases like ‘I could be wrong’ serves as a powerful leadership tool that invites connection and collaboration,” he added.
The interactive workshop brought together executives, community leaders, and professionals from the DC metro region who left equipped and inspired to achieve breakthrough transformations in their personal and professional lives.
