Tamil comedy Pyaar Prema Kalyanam to debut on Netflix
The Tamil-language film explores marriage and family through an unconventional living arrangement.

Tamil romantic comedy Pyaar Prema Kalyanam will debut on Netflix globally on Aug. 21, marking filmmaker Elan's acting debut.
Directed by Elan, the film follows Pavi, played by Saanvee Meghana, a social media influencer who chooses to remain in her parental home after marriage.

Instead of the bride moving into the groom's household, her husband moves in with her, challenging traditional expectations and prompting a series of family conflicts and adjustments.
The film also stars Radhika Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, M. S. Bhaskar, Geetha Kailasam, Elango Kumaravel, Senthil, and Maran. It features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, marking his third collaboration with Elan.
The project marks Elan's third directorial outing after Pyaar Prema Kaadhal and Star. It is also Saanvee Meghana's latest Tamil-language project after appearing in Telugu films including Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Most Eligible Bachelor, and Pushpaka Vimanam.
Monika Shergill, vice president of content at Netflix India, said the film explores changing relationship dynamics through an unconventional premise.
"Pyaar Prema Kalyanam begins with a wonderfully simple but bold question: what if, after marriage, the groom moved into the bride's home instead?" Shergill said. "Elan has brought a wonderfully fresh creative vision to the film, both as a director and in his acting debut."
Producer Sreenidhi Sagar said the film blends humor with themes rooted in Tamil culture and contemporary family relationships.
"What makes Pyaar Prema Kalyanam special is the way it explores modern relationship dynamics through a refreshing premise while remaining deeply rooted in family values and Tamil culture," Sagar said.
The film is produced by Rise East Entertainment, continuing the banner's collaboration with Netflix after Made in Korea, the Tamil coming-of-age drama that premiered on the streaming platform earlier this year.
