Rep. Ami Bera has been recognized as a “Humane Champion” by the Humane World Action Fund for his work in Congress to protect animals.
"Humane Champion" is an award given by the Humane World Action Fund to members of the U.S. Congress who show exceptional, consistent support for animal protection.

Recipients of the award must receive a perfect score on the organization’s annual Humane Scorecard and lead on key animal welfare legislation or regulatory efforts.
Bera took to X and announced his newly received honor, mentioning that he earned a 100+ score on its 2025 Humane Scorecard, and will continue to fight for the cause.
“I’ll keep fighting to combat animal cruelty, defend endangered species, and support commonsense policies that promote the welfare of animals,” wrote Bera.
