Penn grad. Maitreyi wins Director's Spotlight for 'Kala'

University of Pennsylvania graduate student Maitreyi Menon has been honored as a winner in the 2026 Jacobson Global Venture Awards, a flagship entrepreneurship competition hosted by the Lauder Institute.

Menon, an MA/MBA student enrolled in Lauder’s SAMENA-Hindi program, was recognized alongside co-founder Rowa El-Tohami for their venture ‘Kala,’ which won the Director’s Spotlight Award, a new distinction introduced this year to highlight ventures exhibiting a deep understanding of global business dynamics.
