Everything to know about USISPF’s Leadership Summit 2025

The summit features Usha Vance, top US officials, and honors QUAD leaders, with Howard Lutnick delivering the keynote on trade goals.

The U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) will host the eighth edition of its annual Leadership Summit on June.2 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Washington, D.C. The event will bring together senior U.S. and Indian government officials, lawmakers, diplomats, and private sector leaders to advance discussions on economic and strategic cooperation between the two countries, as well as trilateral collaboration with Japan.

The agenda begins at 5:00 PM with a fireside conversation featuring the Second Lady of the United States, Usha Vance. As the first Indian American to hold this position, Vance’s participation is seen by organizers as a reflection of the growing strength of U.S.-India people-to-people ties. “As the first Indian-American in the role of Second Lady, Vance’s presence symbolizes the deepening partnership between the world’s oldest and largest democracies and highlights the robust strength of people-to-people ties,” said USISPF.

Following this, John Chambers, chairman of USISPF and founder & CEO of JC2 Ventures, will deliver special remarks. “USISPF was founded with the single goal of uniting the two most powerful and robust democracies,” Chambers said. 

At 5:45 PM, Indian Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, will take part in a conversation, followed by Representative Rich McCormick (R-GA-07), co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans. Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) will speak next, continuing the summit’s focus on deepening legislative engagement between the two countries.

At 7:05 PM, the forum will recognize three industry leaders with the 2025 Global Leadership Awards. The honorees are Arvind Krishna, chairman, president, and CEO of IBM; Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of Aditya Birla Group; and Toshiaki Higashihara, executive chairman of Hitachi, Ltd. According to USISPF, this will be the first time that QUAD business leaders are jointly recognized at the summit.

Dr. Mukesh Aghi, President and CEO of USISPF, said, “We are proud to welcome Secretary Lutnick, Second Lady Usha Vance and recognize exemplary business leaders who have strengthened the U.S.-India-Japan corridor.” He added, “These three leading democracies—together representing well over $35 trillion—are united by a shared commitment to strengthening supply chains and upholding a rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.”

The keynote address will be delivered at 7:40 PM by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. Secretary Lutnick will speak on ways to strengthen the U.S.-India economic and strategic relationship, including progress toward the bilateral trade goal of $500 billion, a target jointly set by President Trump and Prime Minister Modi.
