Three Indian-Americans on TIME100 Next list

The list honors Shreya Murthy, Shantanu Agarwal, and Neil M. Vora for their achievements in technology, climate innovation, and global health leadership.

TIME magazine has released its 2025 TIME100 Next list, spotlighting emerging leaders shaping the future of innovation, advocacy, health, and business. Among those recognized are three Indian-Americans: Shreya Murthy, Shantanu Agarwal, and Neil M. Vora.

Murthy, co-founder and CEO of New York-based startup Partiful, was highlighted in the innovators category. Her event-planning app, launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, streamlines invitations and coordination via text messaging.

The platform, which has attracted millions of users, was also named among TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2025. A Princeton graduate and first-generation American, Murthy is recognized for reshaping digital tools to foster in-person social connections.

In the leaders category, Agarwal was recognized for his climate-focused work as founder of Mati Carbon, a Houston-headquartered firm using ancient soil techniques to capture carbon and boost agricultural yields.

The Indian-born entrepreneur, an alumnus of IIT Roorkee and Harvard Business School, recently secured a $50 million XPRIZE for carbon removal. His company is positioned as a significant contributor to global decarbonization efforts.

Vora, a physician and senior director for One Health at Conservation International, was recognized for integrating human, animal, and environmental health to prevent pandemics.

A Florida native, he has advised U.S. agencies on outbreak preparedness and co-founded the Preventing Pandemics at the Source Coalition. His approach emphasizes proactive conservation to address zoonotic disease threats.

Indian names

The 2025 TIME100 Next list also features three Indians: cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal, Groww CEO Lalit Keshre, and designer Kartik Kumra. Collectively, the honorees highlight diverse contributions in fields spanning fintech, sports, and culture.
