Team USA seeks blessings at Tirumala Temple

Three players from the team visited the temple and joined hundreds of devotees in offering prayers.

Days after a thumping 31-run win over Namibia, members of the U.S. cricket team, led by captain Monank Patel, visited the famed Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Tirumala on Feb. 17.

Apart from Patel, medium-pacer Saurabh Netravalkar and batsman Milind Kumar, along with their families, offered prayers during the VIP break darshan slot.

The cricketers received immense love from fans who gathered around and clicked photographs with the players. Multiple videos went viral on social media capturing the U.S. cricket team’s visit to the sacred hill shrine in Andhra Pradesh.

The players donned traditional Indian attire and joined hundreds of devotees in offering prayers. They participated in the rituals and immersed themselves in the spiritual atmosphere to seek blessings.

The U.S., on Feb. 7, had lost to India’s Suryakumar Yadav-led side by 29 runs after a closely contested match.
