While talking about his visit, Solomon said: “Canadian leadership in AI comes from our top talent, groundbreaking research and dynamic innovation ecosystem. This visit places Canada’s AI strengths at the forefront — creating new opportunities for joint research, investment and real-world solutions with the Republic of India. By deepening our collaboration in digital technologies, especially AI, we are laying the foundation for a stronger future, with meaningful progress and benefits for both countries.”
Solomon will engage with senior government officials, including his counterpart Ashwini Vaishnaw, India’s minister for railways, information and broadcasting, and electronics and information technology, as well as leaders of prominent Indian and multinational technology companies to strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote Canada’s AI interests globally. Discussions will focus on emerging technologies such as AI, digital infrastructure and solutions, semiconductors and electronics manufacturing, as well as training for workers in digital technologies.
The minister will also attend the India AI Impact Summit 2026 and deliver an address at the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence Council meeting, collaborating with global leaders on the responsible development and use of AI.
While in India, Solomon will also highlight Canada’s cutting-edge innovation, leadership and expertise in the field of AI.
