According to the police, patrol units responded at approximately 8:52 p.m. to the 16000 block of West Grant Line Road following a report of a missing person. During the investigation, detectives reviewed surveillance footage from earlier that afternoon showing Singh with three unidentified individuals dressed in dark clothing near a white SUV at around 2:30 p.m. Authorities said Singh appeared to have entered the vehicle against his will.
Detectives said the investigation is ongoing and, based on information available so far, the incident appears to be isolated. Authorities added that there is no known ongoing threat to the community.
The Sikh Coalition said it is “deeply disturbed by the apparent abduction," adding that local sangat leaders have confirmed authorities are investigating the case. The organization urged anyone with information to contact the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities have not released details about possible suspects or a motive.
