This is the latest in a series of international honors recognizing Modi's work on climate action, sustainable development and green growth.

In May, Modi was conferred the 2026 Agricola Medal, the highest honor of the Food and Agriculture Organization, during a ceremony at the FAO headquarters in Rome.

The medal was presented by FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu in recognition of Modi's contribution to food security, agricultural development and farmer welfare, according to the organization.

Earlier, in 2018, Modi received the Seoul Peace Prize for advancing sustainable economic growth, global cooperation and inclusive development.

He was also conferred the 2018 Champions of the Earth Award for Policy Leadership by then-UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at a ceremony in New Delhi.

Modi is on a three-day state visit to Seychelles.

Earlier Saturday, Modi and Seychelles President Patrick Herminie held talks at State House in Victoria. Before the meeting, Modi was accorded a guard of honor.

On Saturday, Modi handed over the India-made fast patrol vessel PS LESPWAR, six ambulances, 10 utility vehicles and five laser radial boats to strengthen Seychelles' maritime surveillance and Exclusive Economic Zone priorities.

The handover ceremony took place in the presence of Herminie at the Seychelles Coast Guard Base in Victoria.

In a post on X, the Ministry of External Affairs said the fast patrol vessel would strengthen Seychelles' maritime surveillance and Exclusive Economic Zone patrol capabilities.

The ministry said the ambulances, utility vehicles and boats would contribute to the country's development and security, adding that India and Seychelles continue to strengthen their defense partnership under India's Vision MAHASAGAR.

The two leaders also planted a sapling of the rare Coco de Mer palm at the Seychelles National Botanical Garden.

Modi arrived in Seychelles on Saturday to attend the country's Golden Jubilee National Day celebrations as the guest of honor and to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
