Gangwal most recently served as chief financial officer at Altos Ventures, a San Francisco Bay Area-based investment firm that backs early- to growth-stage technology companies. During his four-year tenure, he helped establish and scale the firm's finance and internal operations infrastructure.
Before joining Altos Ventures, Gangwal was chief financial officer, chief compliance officer and a member of the founding team at NewView Capital, a venture growth investment firm launched in 2018 through a major venture secondary buyout transaction. In that role, he worked on fund formation, institutional investment operations and secondary transactions.
"Prashant has decades of financial leadership and institutional experience in venture capital, private equity and secondaries. We are delighted to welcome him to Revelation Partners as chief financial officer as we continue to build our position as the premier healthcare secondaries manager," Michael Boggs, managing partner at Revelation Partners, said in a statement.
Gangwal also held finance leadership positions at SharesPost and the SharesPost 100 Fund, where he worked on transactions involving private company shares and liquidity solutions for investors and founders.
Earlier in his career, he spent several years at Deloitte & Touche LLP, advising asset management, banking and financial services clients on audit, regulatory and operational matters.
In a post announcing his new role, Gangwal said he was "excited" to join Revelation Partners as partner and CFO. He said the firm's healthcare focus, sector expertise, culture and growth opportunities were key factors behind his decision.
"Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to help build and scale investment management platforms across venture capital and secondaries, with a focus on institutional operations, finance, compliance, and complex secondary transactions," Gangwal wrote.
Gangwal holds a Master of Accountancy degree from Miami University in Ohio. He also earned bachelor's and master's degrees in commerce from the University of Madras in India.
