Every generation rediscovers the Ramayana. Sometimes it appears in the form of televised spectacle, as with Ramanand Sagar’s 1980s serial that glued India to its Doordarshan sets. At other times it takes the shape of scholarly argument, as when A.K. Ramanujan reminded us that there are “Three Hundred Ramayanas,” each version remaking the story in its own idiom.
In Talari Anand Mahesh’s Unlocking the Wisdom of the Ramayana (One Point Six Technologies, 2025), the epic reappears as a self-help companion: a slim, highly readable guide that promises lessons for modern life.
