Rasika West End to host culinary fundraiser for rare disorder

Six-course Indian dining experience in Washington, D.C., to raise awareness for Prader-Willi syndrome

Upscale Indian restaurant Rasika West End will host “Solidarity & Spice: A Rare Wine Pairing Dinner” on April 25, 2026, bringing together a curated culinary experience and a cause-driven initiative in Washington, D.C.

The event, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., will feature a six-course Indian-inspired menu paired with wines, offering guests a fine dining experience while supporting awareness efforts around Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic disorder.

Organized in collaboration with the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association USA (PWSA-USA), the fundraiser will also mark the launch of the “No More Lasts” Equity Project, aimed at addressing disparities in care and expanding access to support for affected families by the disease that has no cure.

The dinner will be hosted by wine curator Dini Rao who will lead attendees through the six-course menu with wines from the collection of CEO of Soleno Therapeutics and a local resident of the D.C. area, Anish Bhatnagar.

Rao, who is PWSA-USA board of directors member and mom to Ayoni, 9, living with PWS, said in a video statement that the common issues facing the affected families are delays in diagnosis and lack of acccess to specialized care. 

"I want to see a world where we have no more lasts in Prader-Willi Syndrome. So I'm partnering with Soleno CEO Anish Bhatnagar and he and I are hosting a fabulous six-course Indian tasting menu at Washington DC's renowned restaurant Rasika and this is going to go to our No More Lasts initiative. This is to make sure that there will be no more last diagnosed and no more last treated," Rao was quoted as saying.

Rasika West End is celebrated for its contemporary interpretation of Indian cuisine, featuring a menu designed by James Beard Award-winning Chef Vikram Sunderam. The offerings highlight regional Indian dishes cooked on the Tawa (griddle), Sigri (open barbeque), and in the Tandoor.
