More than 100 Indian-American organizations and 300 community leaders have come together to form the National Alliance of Indian Organizations (NAIO), marking a historic effort to unite the diaspora under a single national platform.
The alliance was launched on March 8 in New York with the stated vision of “One Voice. One Platform. One American Indian Community.”

For decades, thousands of Indian-American organizations have operated independently while contributing significantly to American society and India-U.S. relations. NAIO addresses this fragmentation by establishing a unified framework for collaboration, stronger national representation, and greater collective impact.
The launch saw attendance from elected officials, including Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Congressman Tom Suozzi, Nassau County Chairman Joe Cairo, Congressman Anthony D'Esposito, representatives from CoHNA, and student organization leaders.
The initiative is led by founding leaders Naveen Shah, Chintu Patel, Harry Bolla, Raj Bhayani, and Madhu Pareek, supported by more than 80 prominent community members, including physicians, entrepreneurs, professionals, and philanthropists, who serve as founder trustees.
NAIO’s founding trustees include prominent names such as Bharat Barai, Datta Nori, Samin Sharma, HR Shah, Anil Jain, Subhash Patel, and Chandrakant Trivedi, among many others from healthcare, business, and community leadership.
These leaders, along with more than 40 additional founder trustees drawn from decades of service in medicine, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and civic engagement, provided strategic guidance and helped shape the organization’s objectives.
NAIO has also formed a Women's Council with 25 distinguished women leaders to advance inclusive representation. The organization plans to operate through a board of directors, a national executive council, advisory councils, and regional ambassadors.

The alliance will support initiatives such as national conventions, AI-enabled networking, startup mentorship programs, scholarships, advocacy on immigration, education, and economic matters, as well as cultural and humanitarian programs.
Additionally, NAIO has announced two major upcoming events: a National Independence Day Celebration scheduled for August 15, 2026, and a flagship National Convention set for July 4, 2027.
