Indo-American Press Club announces Lifetime Achievement Awardees

They will be honored at the 10th annual International Media Conference in May, 2025.

The Indo-American Press Club (IAPC) has announced the recipients of the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Awards, honoring exemplary contributions to media, healthcare, business, and community service. 

The awards will be presented at the 10th annual International Media Conference from May 3–5 at the Woodlands Inn and Resort in Pennsylvania’s Poconos region.

The honorees include Satheesh Kathula, Anju Vallabhaneni, Prakash A. Shah, Vemuri S. Murthy, Sam Maddula, Madhavan B. Nair, and Rohit Vyas.

Satheesh Kathula, a Dayton-based oncologist and president of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), recognized for his global healthcare advocacy and medical education initiatives in India. He also serves a clinical professor of medicine at Wright State University-Boonshoft School of Medicine. 

Anju Vallabhaneni, CEO of United Software Group and president of ITServe Alliance, honored for his leadership in the tech sector and dedication to philanthropic efforts across the U.S. His leadership and strategic vision have been instrumental in managing businesses with revenues ranging from $5 million to over $100 million.

Prakash A. Shah, chairman of First Growth Mortgage and Realty, and president of GOPIO International, commended for his decades of leadership in finance and diaspora advocacy. A well-respected leader in the Indian diaspora community, he has more than 45 years of experience in the areas of mortgage banking, international investment banking, venture capital, financial management, computer systems and management sciences. 

Vemuri S. Murthy, a physician and academic from Chicago, celebrated for pioneering CPR training models in India and advancing emergency medicine education globally. He has been affiliated with the American Heart Association (AHA) for over thirty years in various capacities. 

Sam Maddula, founder of Bank’s Apothecary Specialty Pharmacy, recognized for transforming behavioral healthcare delivery and mentoring underserved youth. He established the Maddula Foundation, contributing significantly to healthcare and educational initiatives for underserved communities. Maddula serves on the executive advisory council board at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy, amongst others. 

Madhavan B. Nair, founder of the North American Malayalee Association, lauded for his extensive social work, including student skill development and cancer awareness through the MBN Foundation. Based in New Jersey, he has long committed himself to advancing the well-being of the Indian-American community through various leadership roles and grassroots initiatives.

Rohit Vyas, veteran journalist and former News Director of TV ASIA, honored for his enduring influence in broadcast journalism and South Asian media narratives in North America. His contributions have been honored by the New Jersey State Assembly, the Nassau County Executive of Long Island, New York, and numerous civic and professional organizations nationwide, celebrating his legacy of impactful journalism and unwavering service to the community.

The conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops with media professionals, journalists, and writers focusing on digital transformation, press freedom, and global collaboration.

Founded in 2013 to connect and empower media professionals of Indian origin, the IAPC continues its mission to recognize outstanding leadership and service across diverse fields.
