Indian-origin woman killed in New Jersey crash
Deepa Sripathy, who had lived in the United States since 2008, was scheduled to travel to India within days of the fatal crash.

A Hyderabad-born software professional was killed in a road accident in New Jersey on July 27, just two days before she was due to fly to India.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Deepa Sripathy, was dropping her husband, Ramakrishna Sripathy, at a metro station when another vehicle allegedly rammed into her car.

The driver of the other vehicle has reportedly been taken into custody by local police. Authorities have not publicly released additional details about the crash or announced any charges.
A purported video of the accident circulating on social media shows a police vehicle at the scene and two heavily damaged cars – one red and one silver – along the roadside. The silver vehicle appeared to have sustained extensive front-end damage, with its hood torn apart.
Originally from Aakuthotapalli village in Telangana's Rangareddy district, Deepa had been living in the United States with her husband since 2008. Both worked as software professionals and were raising their two daughters. The family's home in India is in Teachers Colony, Hastinapuram, Hyderabad.
Her death came in a tragic turn of events, as she had planned to return to India within two days.
According to her obituary, Deepa, 44, is described as someone who enjoyed spending time with the family's pet, Leo, teaching elementary school children, cooking, and gardening. It also remembered her as "kind by heart" with "extreme patience," adding that she was "loved by one and all."
The crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
