He is survived by his wife, Rashmi, and their two children — Arnav, 14, and Aarna, 9. Friends and teammates said Murkute had recently purchased a home for his family and was deeply involved in community cricket.
In the aftermath of his death, teammates and friends launched a GoFundMe campaign to support the family. At the time of publising this report, the fundraiser has raised $216,150 of its $250,000 goal through approximately 3,800 donations.
According to the fundraiser, the family is facing financial strain following Murkute’s sudden death. The campaign states that Rashmi is on an H-4 dependent visa, which does not permit employment.
The funds are intended to cover funeral and memorial expenses, provide immediate financial relief, support the children’s education, and assist with mortgage and living costs.
